QUICK RECIPE OVERVIEW

Why you’ll love it

  • A creamy, dairy-free sauce made with simple, wholesome ingredients in just minutes. Cashew butter creates a rich, velvety texture without needing cream or mayonnaise.

What Makes It So Flavorful?

Freshly grated ginger adds warmth and a little zing, while lime juice brings brightness. Toasted sesame oil, maple syrup, and chili flakes round out the sauce with nutty, sweet, and spicy notes.

Helpful Tips

  • Use smooth, unsweetened cashew butter and fresh ginger for the best flavor. Start with less lime juice and adjust to taste, since the acidity can vary between limes.

Recipe Notes

  • Cashew Butter: Choose natural, unsweetened cashew butter for a mild, buttery flavor. Stir well before measuring if the oils have separated.

  • Fresh Ginger: Freshly grated ginger gives this sauce its distinctive flavor. For a milder version, start with 2 teaspoons and increase to taste.

  • Flavor Variations: Add 1 teaspoon gluten-free tamari or coconut aminos for a deeper, savory flavor that pairs especially well with stir-fries.

  • Serving Ideas: Delicious over Asian-inspired chicken bowls, quinoa salads, crunchy cabbage slaws, roasted broccoli, or grilled tofu.

  • Meal Prep: Prepare the sauce ahead and store separately from your bowls or salads. It may thicken when chilled, so stir in a little water before serving.

  • Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight glass jar for up to 4–5 days. Stir well before using.
