QUICK RECIPE OVERVIEW

Why you’ll love it

  • This simple, no-cook dressing comes together in minutes and adds delicious flavor to everyday ingredients. It's a wonderful make-ahead option to keep in the fridge for quick meals throughout the week.

What Makes It So Flavorful?

Miso and tamari add savory umami depth, while tahini creates a rich, nutty creaminess. Fresh ginger, garlic, and rice vinegar bring brightness, balanced by a hint of sweetness and toasted sesame.

Helpful Tips

  • Add cold water gradually until the dressing reaches your preferred consistency. Keep it thicker for grain bowls or dipping, or thin it slightly for tossing with crunchy cabbage salads.

ABOUT 6 SERVINGS | PREP 5 MINUTES | COOK NONE

Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup tahini

  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium tamari or coconut aminos

  • 1 teaspoon yellow or white miso paste

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup

  • 2–3 tablespoons cold water, to thin as needed

Method:

  1. Combine the ingredients. In a small bowl or glass jar, whisk together the tahini, tamari, miso paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, and honey or maple syrup until well combined.

  2. Gradually whisk in cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until smooth and creamy.

  3. Add a little more rice vinegar for brightness or honey or maple syrup for sweetness, if desired.

  4. Enjoy immediately or transfer to an airtight glass jar and refrigerate until ready to use.

Recipe Notes

  • Make Ahead & Storage: Store in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 4–5 days. Stir or shake well before serving.

  • Consistency: Tahini naturally thickens when refrigerated. Whisk in a splash of cold water to restore its creamy texture.

  • Serving Ideas: Delicious with Asian-inspired cabbage salads, chicken and edamame bowls, roasted vegetables, or as a flavorful dipping sauce.
