What Makes It So Flavorful?
Ripe tomatoes bring natural sweetness, while red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño add freshness and a little heat. Lime juice ties everything together with a bright, tangy finish.
Helpful Tips
Finely dice the ingredients so every bite has a little of everything. Let the salsa rest for 10–15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop.

¼ teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method:

Let sit for 10–15 minutes to develop the flavors. Taste, adjust the lime juice or salt, and serve fresh.
Recipe Notes
Best Tomatoes: Choose ripe but firm Roma tomatoes. They have fewer seeds and less moisture, helping the salsa stay fresh and chunky.
Black Bean & Corn Variation: Add ¼ cup rinsed and drained black beans and ¼ cup cooked sweet corn for a heartier salsa with extra fiber, color, and texture.
Avocado Variation: Gently fold in 1 diced ripe avocado just before serving for a creamy addition.
Serving Ideas: Delicious with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, fish tacos, or your Mexican Chicken & Black Bean Burrito Bowls (see recipe ↗).
Meal Prep: Chop the ingredients a few hours ahead and refrigerate separately. Combine with lime juice and salt shortly before serving for the freshest texture.
Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2–3 days. Tomatoes will naturally release liquid, so drain any excess before serving.
